Amazing Learners

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday this November, had some wonderful family time, and is looking forward to the holiday season. In class, we are discussing family traditions. Students will be doing research and a family interview about traditions that have been passed down. We are looking forward to developing questions this week and conducting the parent interview next week. I can't wait to learn even more about our families. Be unique - nothing is too silly - an example: My family has a wreath that my mom puts on the same cabinet every year. The cabinet eyes look like eyes on the wreath. We call this decoration "Wreath Man" and though mom tried to fight it (she moves it every year), we put him back in place (yes, I am almost 38 years old). Feel free to share all of the things that bring your family together at this time of year.

Our holiday party is coming up soon and I need 1 or two moms/dads to coordinate the party. Please let me know if you are interested.

Mrs. Lestage's last day with us will be this Friday December 2. If you have time at home, maybe have each child write her a card or letter of thank you. I will be giving her flowers which students can bring a flower and contribute to the bouquet.

Reminders:
Please send a jacket with your student as weather sometimes can be unpredictable. Please also write students' name inside so that they will be easier to locate if lost. Remind students not to share coats, hats, etc.

Remind students to wash their hands, as there are many "bugs" going around.

Please remember to send a healthy snack that your child knows is designated for snack time. Students have been known to graze through the morning and then their lunchbox maybe empty at lunch time. Remind students when to eat snacks (they may bring multiple snacks). Please be sure that they are neat and all liquids are water.
