Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday! I know it was restful and nice to have family time. I hope that yours was restful as well.

A few changes:

• There will be NO toys allowed in class. This includes stuffed animals, keychains, and Pokemon cards. These have proven to be a distraction, even when they are only allowed at recess.
• Students are being held accountable for work completion and working at their table. If they are having problems with this, you will receive a note.
• We are working positively to identify leaders and reward them with non-tangible rewards: Special times with friends and teachers. Please reinforce positive behavior at home as well.
• Students will be leaving class less to go to  the nurse, water fountain, etc. Please be sure that they have a water bottle, and if they have a boo-boo, that they are sent with additional bandaids as well. Also, please be sure that your child has a good snack and a good breakfast before they leave for school. They are growing and getting hungrier and hungrier :)

Our Awards Assembly will be on Monday at 8 am. I will let you know if your child is getting an award (most kids got all first semester awards at the last assembly). Our class EmCee will be Aileen Velasquez.

I am sending book orders home. Please send all orders in paper copy with a check. This actually makes it faster return this time of year. I will send each order in as it is received.
